UWC Day 2025: Celebrating Peace, Community and Action at MUWCI

UWC Day 2025: Celebrating Peace, Community and Action at MUWCI

Each year on 21 September, UWC campuses around the world mark UWC Day, aligning with the UN International Day of Peace to honour the UWC mission of uniting people for a better world. MUWCI’s celebration spans two vibrant days of dialogue, creativity, and service.

Festivities begin Saturday, 20 September, with a 6 PM alumni panel in the MPH featuring inspiring UWC graduates working in peacebuilding, followed by an Open Mic Night where students share music, poetry, and reflections on peace.

On Sunday, 21 September, the morning opens with Wada breakfasts, collaborative banner-painting, and meditation. A community gathering at 10:30 showcases this artwork before we spread across campus for rejuvenation projects—from planting a butterfly garden and creating Peace Pillars to decorating discussion boards, cleaning biodiversity zones, and crafting UWC Value Boxes for interactive seating. A live walkathon to Waghzai will raise funds for the UWC Donation Drive while a film crew captures the day’s spirit.

The celebration culminates with a community pangat lunch and afternoon film screenings, reaffirming MUWCI’s commitment to sustainability, creativity, and shared purpose.
