Financial Need
A majority of students at UWC Mahindra attend on full or partial scholarship. The college is committed to ensuring that financial need is not a barrier to admission. If you have what it takes to thrive here, cost should not be what stops you from applying.
What it costs
The annual fees to attend UWC Mahindra are approximately INR 28,75,000 for Indian students and USD 41,750 for overseas students. Fees are subject to change each year. This covers tuition, boarding, meals, and core programme costs across the academic year. The IB Diploma is a two-year programme, so the full cost of the degree spans two academic years.
How scholarships work
UWC Mahindra's scholarships are need-based, not merit-based. The college does not award scholarships for academic performance alone. The question is not how strong your results are, but whether your family can reasonably afford the full cost of attendance. Every family is asked to contribute as much as they are reasonably able to. The level of support offered is determined through a financial assessment that considers parental income and assets, family size, and household expenditure. The goal is to maximise the number of students who can attend, not to limit support to those in the most extreme financial circumstances. Scholarship awards range from partial support to full funding of fees. The assessment is handled in conjunction with the national committee application process for students applying through that route.
Who funds the scholarships
The scholarship programme at UWC Mahindra is sustained by contributions from several sources. Major commitments have included a USD 12.5 million commitment in 2014 by Shelby M.C. Davis and Anand Mahindra, a USD 15 million Davis IMPACT Challenge in 2015, and a USD 7.5 million commitment from Scholae Mundi Foundation and the Mahindra Group in 2017. A significant portion of the scholarship fund is also maintained through alumni giving. Many UWC Mahindra graduates describe their time on the hill as one of the most formative experiences of their lives, and their contributions help ensure that the next generation of students can have the same opportunity regardless of their financial background.

Applying for financial support
If you are applying through the UWC National Committee route, the financial assessment is part of the national committee process. Your committee will guide you through what information is needed and when. If you are applying through the Global Selection Programme, financial support is not available. The GSP is designed for students who can fully self-fund their studies. If you are applying through the International Application Pathway, limited scholarship support is available on a competitive basis.
