UWC Mahindra looks for students who are genuinely curious, committed to something beyond their own advancement, and ready to live and learn in close proximity with people who are fundamentally unlike them. Academic achievement matters, but it is never the only thing.
What UWC Mahindra looks for
The five C-competencies sit at the heart of MUWCI's educational philosophy: Curiosity, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Courage, and Compassion. These are not just admissions criteria. They are the qualities the college works to develop across two years, and the qualities it looks for evidence of in every applicant. While strong academic results are welcome, the selection process considers knowledge, skills, and attitude together. The question is not only what a student has achieved, but what they have done with the opportunities available to them. Context matters. A student who has shown initiative and impact in a resource-limited environment is taken as seriously as one with a polished record from a well-resourced school. UWC Mahindra is not looking for students who have already mastered the skills to be changemakers. It is looking for students who are ready to grow into them.
Am I eligible to Apply to UWC Mahindra?
To be eligible for UWC Mahindra, students must be between 16 and 18 years of age at the time of starting the programme. The college offers the two-year IB Diploma Programme for students in Years 1 and 2. Students must be able to study and communicate in English, as all teaching at UWC Mahindra is conducted in English.
