How to Apply

Being nominated by a UWC national committee is a significant step. It means the committee has identified you as someone ready for the UWC experience. What comes next, from college allocation through to arrival at UWC Mahindra, is a process shared between UWC International, the college itself, and your family. This page explains what to expect.

What to expect

College allocation

College allocation

After nomination by a national committee, students are allocated to a UWC college by UWC International. The allocation takes into account a range of factors including the student's preferences (where indicated), the available places at each college, the overall composition of the incoming cohort, and any special circumstances flagged by the national committee. Students allocated to UWC Mahindra will receive formal notification from the college. This is distinct from the national committee nomination: it is the point at which UWC Mahindra itself extends a place.

Accepting your place

Accepting your place

Once you receive confirmation of a place at UWC Mahindra, you will need to formally accept. The acceptance process involves completing enrolment paperwork, confirming financial arrangements, submitting required documentation, and completing a health declaration.

Scholarship and fee confirmation

Scholarship and fee confirmation

For students arriving through the national committee route, scholarship allocations are confirmed as part of the acceptance process. Students should receive a clear breakdown of what the scholarship covers, what (if any) family contribution is required, and how payments are structured across the two years.

Before you arrive

Before you arrive

Between accepting your place and arriving at UWC Mahindra, there are several practical steps for families to complete. These typically include visa arrangements for international students, travel booking, kit lists, and pre-arrival reading or orientation materials.

Arrival and orientation

Arrival and orientation

First-year students typically arrive at UWC Mahindra in August. Orientation lasts approximately two weeks before the academic programme begins. Second-year students arrive a few days earlier to help settle in the new cohort.
